We're excited to announce the inaugural Attaquer Hot Laps evening criterium, which will light up Adelaide's Victoria Park crit circuit on Friday, 18th of January, 2019.

Entries for the event are open now, with a fleet of fleet of food trucks, music, and à BLOC® Beer, ensuring a party atmosphere.

Elite Womens (5:30pm) and Elite Mens (6:45pm) races will take place in the heart of Adelaide at Victoria Park criterium circuit. For local South Australian competitors, the events will serve as the South Australian Criterium Championships, providing the motivation to deliver top-level racing alongside big prize money.

With the incredible support of Cycling South Australia, Hot Laps is set to deliver an evening spectacle giving the thousands of cycling fans in Adelaide (Hot Laps takes place on the eve of the final weekend of racing at the Tour Down Under) an adrenaline-fuelled addition to their calendars.

While the races are expected to attract the cream of Australia’s domestic racing talent, including Attaquer's own Crit Dawgs, we've been working hard with Cycling South Australia to turn this into something more exciting than “just another bike race”.

“Cycling South Australia have been an incredible partner to work with in developing the Hot Laps event,” said Greg Hamer, co-founder of Attaquer. “As cyclists ourselves, we’ve enjoyed some of our most memorable days on the bike exploring the beautiful roads Adelaide has to offer, and we wanted to create an event where fans can witness high level racing with a beer in hand, watching the sun set over the iconic Victoria Park grandstand. Is there anything more romantic than that?”

“We really wanted to add something to the calendar and not just run another generic bike race,” Cycling South Australia CEO Lachie Ambrose told us. “This is an event we see a lot of potential for – something that both riders and spectators will look forward to.”
